Twenty-five years later, in 1990, MRTA guerrillas kidnapped him and murdered his transgender sister, Roger decides to seek justice and reparations as a survivor of the Internal Armed Conflict in the Peruvian Amazon. Once a rural schoolteacher and now a stylist like his murdered sister, he confronts his wounds and the state bureaucracy while trying to heal his identity in the midst of a country still full of prejudice.
