Parole

The documentary explores the phenomenon surrounding humanitarian parole, the temporary permission granted by the United States to foreign citizens to enter and remain in the country for humanitarian reasons or medical emergencies, and its emotional impact on families divided between Cuba and the United States. The film emerges from the director’s own experience, which he describes as a gift to his mother, and reflects the vulnerability of those who depend on a bureaucratic process to rebuild their family lives.
